Cunning Little Vixen

A development of Janáček’s Cunning Little Vixen, this adaptation focuses Irish culture and craft at its center. Through the utilisation of traditional techniques and contemporary design elements, this production is transformed into a tale of British colonisation and Irish resilience. Set in the Gaeltacht in Galway, each character represents a different struggle of those living during the British occupation of Ireland.

This line up focuses on natural fabrics and fibres such as willow, wool, and fur to enhance each animals character. Whilst the human characters rely on intricate machine weaves and materials to highlight just how little they belong in this story.
