The Plain Doll
A project taken straight from the pages on Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Bloodborne, this project is an adaptation of the character “The Plain Doll” from the 2015 FromSoftware game.. This was a personal project that expanded beyond costume construction into millinery, wig and makeup design.
Using an original illustration of the character as inspiration, an entire costume was developed from scratch, including power-mesh gloves to mimic the dolls joints and paler flesh. Extensive breakdown techniques were used over much of the costume to match the dingy and dark setting of the source material.
